Is anyone watching the Event? I am always a little hesitent about watching a new show. It stinks to find a show you like and have it cancelled on you. You feel like you've wasted your time. I hadn't really watched any new shows this fall but I noticed more and more of my friends "liking" this show on facebook and I decided to check it out. I am really loving this show. It is a bit of a mystery like Lost. You are definately trying to figure out what is go...
I work at the police department and even though I'm not an officer I learn so many things from reading their reports. I thought I would share some of the wisdom that I learned from just one shift. If you have warrants and you think you are smart and will give a fake name and birthdate to fool the officers, be smart enough not to tell the officers your birthday is November 31. Congratulations you have just added failure to ID to your charges. Another suggestion, tak...
JUst one of those email forwards but I thought it was funny enough to share with the joeuser crowd. I did not write this so don't be patting me on the back or beating me senseless over the content. When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... Barefoot... BOTH ways… yadda, yadda...
"When we choose not to focus on what's missing in our lives but are grateful for the abundance that is present...we experience heaven on earth." Today was a fabulous day! First of all today is my day off which is always nice. I can't imagine how people that work seven days a week do it. It is so nice to have that break to relax and recharge. It is finally spring and in Texas that means bluebonnets everywhere. The bluebonnets just make me happy. ...
So are you a good tipper? Who do you tip? What percentage? Is there ever a time you resent being asked for a tip or seeing that tip jar out? I tip if I eat in a restaurant. I do feel that when they take my order, bring my food, refill my drinks they deserve a tip. I generally tip about 15% sometimes more if it is excellent service. I do not tip when I order carryout food and I don't understand why they expect a tip when all they did is put my order in ...
I miss my JU! friends who have left the site. I am trying to convince them to return, visit? something. I am glad to have made some friends on this site. Some I have stayed in touch with via email. I have several that are friends on Facebook. It's just not the same as the interaction we had on this site. By the way, I really like Myspace better than Facebook. Mainly because I love music. Myspace is such a wonderful place to discover new bands, s...
My heart breaks for this poor girl who committed suicide because of the extreme bullying at her school. I am glad that the kids who contributed to this are going to face some consequences. I do hope that this tragedy does bring changes in how some schools handle bullying. This is not some little misunderstanding, kids being kids behavior. The teachers and administration need to pay attention and step in and stop this garbage. The schools need to have anti-bullying p...
I would like to write when I get a minute but I feel like all I do is whine. I want a computer and internet access at home. I want to get off of the night shift. I want to win the lottery even though I never buy a ticket. So today my question is where did everyone go? I see very few of the regular contributors that were such a part of Joeuser when I was regularly on here. Where is Little Whip? ModMan? I am glad to see KFC, the trucker and BFD still here. I know that Tova ...
Some mini book reviews The Late Lamented Molly Marx by Sally Koslow I really enjoyed this book about a woman who is deceased, we get to see what's going on with her family currently, how they are dealing with her death, look back at her memories and find out who killed Molly. The actual who did it is really a small part of the book. This book was well and engaging. I liked Molly, hated some other characters okay mainly the horrible, cheating husband and his lady friend.&n...
I think I am getting more and more grumpy and irritable as I get older. Some things that I never noticed let alone let bother me are now driving me up a wall. My new job is pretty quiet. I work third shift so there's not a whole lot of action, a little when we first come in and then it starts picking up when everyone is waking up but most of the night is pretty quiet. Of course, we have no musica in the officina. Music would really help because instead I have to li...
I have been feeling sentimental, nostalgic...maudlin of late. I think it is horrible to live in the past and always think what's done was so much better than what we have now. I guess we all have the tendency to look back and see the good and let the bad remain fuzzy. That said here is some of what I miss from former times and places in my life. Tiffin, Ohio - born and raised and lived there the first 18 years of my life. What do I miss? Knowing everyone.&n...
Hello everyone. I have been working for the police department for four months now and there are certain things I notice that seem to cause numerous people numerous problems so in my spirit of helpfulness and love I thought I would share some tips. Okay, number one. Know your license plate. Memorize it. Or write it down. Even better write down the license plates of everyone you love - your husband, wife, son, daughter, mom, dad etc. The reason is that ...
Completely inspired by the suckitude of the awful and horrific rendition of Careless Whisper by Seether. I mean really how can a band that has a few rocking songs go so incredibly wrong? I decided to enlighten the world with my always scientific list of good cover songs and bad cover songs. The Good Black by Aaron Lewis of Staind - I honestly like it better than the original. And NO it is not whiny. Higher Ground by Red Hot Chili Peppers - Awesome! ...
