Something needs to change! It really is time for Obama to take a good look and realize that he's no longer the front runner. He hasn't won a primary since February. For all the talk of his oratory skills, he didn't win the last debate. He keeps alienating people whose votes he should be trying to win. I don't think people really want to vote for someone who thinks they are "bitter and clinging to God, guns and antipathy for people who aren't like them". He has the stink of several scandals still wafting around him.
I could almost feel bad for Obama. I mean it was such an Obama love fest for such a long time that the tables were bound to turn. I guess it takes more than the change/hope mantra to keep the voters behind him. Maybe people have figured out that they really don't know Obama. Maybe they've figured out that he doesn't have the experience to lead this country. Maybe you can't keep telling people that you're going to transcend party politics when you have the most liberal voting record in the senate. That is quite a feat considering all of the votes he missed or just voted present. He doesn't even represent his constituents in the senate but he thinks we're going to hand him the keys to the country?
I'm so tired of the MYTH that Obama has taken the high road and Hillary is in the dirt. It's just not true. Obama has had no problem attacking her character. His campaign has sent out misleading mailings and paid for misleading television ads. He has out and out lied on several issues such as the gun control questionaire, the flag pin, Rezko etc. The fact that his followers (and they are followers of the religous persuasion not supporters) still insist that he's not really a politician is laughable. He is a politician through and through. That's fine but don't act like you're above the fray.
Hillary has just received an endorsement from the governor of North Carolina and is beating McCain by nine points in the latest poll. Maybe it's time for Obama to so elegantly take the high road and drop out...you know for the good of the party.
