Someday I will have the budget to have a truly fabulous art collection. Right now I am thankful that I have the internet to be inspired by all of the wonderfully creative artists that are out there. I do collect Mexican folk art which I love and also can afford. I just wanted to share some new artists and pieces that I have discovered. Oh and if anyone has a large pocketbook and a desire to do something nice for me, you can consider this a wishlist. That's a joke not a serious petition.
I do have an affection for the untrained, folk artist. There is something so fun and genuine about these pieces. There is ususally none of the pretension of the snobby artiste. You know the ones who dress all in black and chain smoke and act like they are better than everyone else. That doesn't mean that I don't think this is art. These are beautiful assemblage birdhouses created by Lynn Peer.

Brad and Sundie Ruppert are a husband and wife team that make wonderful art from all kinds of found objects. I love it all but I think my favorites are the arrows so I'm taking you directly there. I think this may inspire me to make an arrow of my own. Maybe one pointing to heaven and one pointing to hell to keep my boys in line. That would be a joke since I don't believe in hell anyway but this wasn't meant to be a philosophical discussion.

This one I really love. Su Blackwell makes wonderful sculptures from open books

Okay a fun one for the last one. My hubby thinks this is too weird but I think it is a great weird. It's a chandelier made from gummi bears. By YaYa Chou who made this to make more of a social statement about who gets to chose these kinds of foods.

And a thank you to Ockhams Razor for sharing the secret of having a window pop up (hopefully) instead of losing the original blog when you click on the link.
