I love to create but I've never felt like I could draw freehand. I think I have had a complex ever since I got a C in art from Miss Nowak in the fourth grade. That was a time when I never got C's and it cost me a pair of clogs that I was supposed to get if I got all A's and B's. I can doodle. Doodling seems to be the latest in thing in the stamping/scrapbooking/paper arts world. That really has nothing to do with this article.

On another site someone posted a link to a chibi tutorial on deviant art. I drew a cute little bunny and it actually looked like a cute little bunny. I decided I would try to draw more chibi. I drew a person that looked more like a robot, a person with uneven eyes and I absolutely cannot get how to draw draping on clothes. I drew another chibi that was easier because she was wearing a dress. I drew a little chibi kitty cat.

When I get my scanner going, I will show you my creations. I have to go date them so I can eventually see how far I've come. Oh I also tried to draw a character from Sailor Moon but she didn't come out too wonderfully. It's all a learning experience though. I think I am going to keep working on it. I really want to find a portable hobby. As much as I love stamping, collage & papercrafts, it just doesn't travel well. You can't work on it while sitting in the car. I am also debating whether to start embroidering again. I did some simple embroidery when I was a kid. I did cross-stitch for a while. There is a company called sublime stitching that has great patterns like tattoo flash, luchadors, dia de los muertos, pin ups etc.

It's fun to try something new and expand your horizons a bit. I was quite proud of my little creations. My son looked at them and told me I needed to keep working on it. Jeesh, everyone's a critic. Now I'm off to make some more inchies. They are my new favorite things. They are basically little one inch collages. They are so small that it takes no time to put them together and it's a great way to use up all my little scraps of paper.
