Tonight I worked on two sets of ATC's or Artists Trading Cards for the uninitiated. They are miniature works of art that are baseball card sized. 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".

The first set I did was cowboys themed. It was a set of three. I used a dark brown cardstock as the backgroung and collaged on some banadana printed paper, torn and sanded, a central cowboy image, the words Giddy Up, Grit and Yee-Haw on each and added a small metal star. I had originally tried bordering the card with a copper paint pen but the I didn't love the result so I trimmed them and put them on a burgundy cardstock. I then sealed them with Gel Medium. Oh I forgot that I also inked them with some walnut ink to add to the distressed look. They came out a bit dark but very masculine which is the point.

My other set is a set of two of Judy Garland. I actually recieved a card in the mail with a Judy Garland stamp which I saved and was my inspiration. I stamped a pale pink background with a large white rose. The rose is very subtle. I then edged it with my black swirls from my Rhonna Farrer stamp set. I love these stamps and use them constantly. I placed the Judy Garland stamp in the corner and collaged on the quote "If I am a legend then shy am I so lonely". I really don't know a lot about Judy Garland but she must have had a hard life. Her quotes just break your heart. I then glued the pink cardstock onto a black cardstock matte. the other card is similiar but I used a Paperhouse Productions sticker of Judy Garland as Dorothy which is in a circle. I then added the Judy Garland quote "I was born at the age of twelve on an MGM lot" and her name around the image. I really like how they came out. I really am inspired by the old hollywood images. I have my eye on an Audrey Hepburn stamp and I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Sophia Loren one that I saw at the stamp show. Hopefully that same vendor will come back for the show in January.

I think that is it for my creations tonight. Of course, I was supposed to be working on a one stamp submission but somehow when I have a specific project in mind, I lose inspiration. I did stamp and emboss a few images but then had brain freeze so maybe I'll pull them out tommorow. I also want to go to the office supply store and see if I can find envelopes to place my ATC's in, decorated of course. There are some in the new Stampin' Up! mini, so I may order those if I can't find the correct size at the store.
